The Village Bar & Restaurant
There is a long-standing debate over who invented the hamburger. All we know is, we've been perfecting the burger since 1879. That's over 140 years of taking the time to craft the best burger in Saint Louis & perhaps the USA!
In 1870, as the westward expansion began along Route 100, the travelers and immigrants moving into the area called Saint Louis home. The "Mercantile" building, now our Restaurant, supplied food, liquor, feed, and all of the hardware necessary for the growth of the community.
We are proud of our history as a Saint Louis staple and thanks to our loyal customers, spanning generations, we will continue bringing you an award winning burger. We invite you to take a look at our rich heritage, eat and enjoy.
